Updated 2020 IPGRS Poster Presentation Guidelines (current as of 3/25/20) NEW SHOW DATES & NEW IPGRS DEADLINE The Midwest Podiatry Conference has been moved to October 28th – October 31 st , 2020. We understand that this date will not accommodate everyone, and we sincerely apologize. However, in an effort to gather great podiatric research and acknowledge the hard work of our residents, we are happy to announce that we will move forward with the 2020 International Post Graduate Research Symposium. As a result, we will honor all submitted research projects and continue to accept additional research projects until Friday, August 7 th , 2020. Rest assured we will honor your submission even if your residency ends in June 2020. We will also accept any new research should you just be starting your residency this Spring. Please refer to the below information for greater details on the IPGRS Poster Presentations. WHY SHOULD I ENTER? Past IPGRS participants agree that the conference is an excellent opportunity to receive recognition for their work while also bringing recognition to their Residency/Fellowship Program and the opportunity to present new research to practicing podiatrists. All IPGRS participants will receive complimentary registration for the 2020 Midwest Podiatry Conference. The top (10) finalists will compete for the first prize ($500), second prize ($250) and third prize ($125). Additionally, finalists receive one complimentary night of hotel accommodations and reimbursement for travel expenses, as outlined in the MPC Speaker Reimbursement Policy. PLEASE READ THROUGH THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS AND APPLY THROUGH THE LINK WHEN READY TO SUBMIT. HOW DOES IT WORK? Submissions are reviewed to determine the top (10) finalists who will have the opportunity to present their research in a ten-minute PowerPoint presentation on Saturday, October 31 st from 8:00AM – 11:00AM with award winners being announced at 11:30AM. Presenters will be judged on their research based on clarity, presentation, validity, proper scientific format, and originality.

The IPGRS accepts entries for the following topics: • Surgery Sports Medicine • Geriatrics Orthopedics • Biomechanics General Podiatric Care • Diabetics Arthritis • Pediatrics Wound Care All submitted abstracts are displayed in the exhibit hall at the 2020 Midwest Podiatry Conference. Posters must be displayed in the designated poster area no later than 11:00AM on Thursday, October 29th. Participants will also be assigned a lunch or reception session to share their findings with attending podiatric physicians on either Thursday October 29th, (12:00PM – 1:00PM), Friday, October 30 th (12:00PM – 1:00PM) or Friday, October 30 th (5:00PM-6:00PM). ABSTRACT GUIDELINES Student submissions are not allowed. Abstracts may be presented by residents or fellows. An abstract is an outline of research that has been completed and is being prepared for publication. Abstracts and posters previously submitted to other meetings, conferences, and seminars are welcome and will be considered. Once abstracts are submitted, they are considered final and no changes or addenda will be allowed. Submitters must follow the guidelines below: • Title: The title of research as the authors anticipate it will appear if published. • Authors: Includes all persons who will be listed as authors when the manuscript is submitted for publication. It is customary to list the persons responsible for the greatest part of the project as first author and those making the largest contribution second and so on. This is left to the authors' discretion. The first author listed here does not have to be the presenting author. • Purpose: Describe what the authors hope to discover with the research project. • Methods: Include a brief description of the methods used to carry out the project, including the statistical analysis performed. • Results: Describe what results were found and any statistical analysis performed. It is important to note if differences between the study groups were statically significant. • Conclusion: Include the authors' opinions on the relevance of results. 2 1 S T A SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS: N U A L I N T E R N A T I O N A L P O S T G R A 1. Please include a blind and non-blind copy of the abstract.

  3. 2. Abstracts must be original, clinical and/or basic science works of the presenting author. 3. A letter of sponsorship from your training program institution must be submitted with your abstract. A template is provided for your convenience. Participants will be notified by September 11 th , 2020 if their abstract was one of ten selected for abstract presentation. The selected candidates must prepare a ten (10) minute PowerPoint presentation which they will present during one of the designated IPGRS Sessions taking place during the conference on Saturday, October 31st, 2020 . Final PowerPoint presentations will be due no later than Monday, October 16 th , 2020 and should be submitted to assistant@ipma.net.
