Plan the Work – Work the Plan!

Vince Vandehaar of VVV Consultants gave an excellent presentation on formulating a plan of action for practice improvements and effectively selling it to leadership. During the presentation, Vince gave an in-depth review of the six critical initiatives to success. Members in attendance were encouraged to select a process improvement or change that they would like to implement in their organization. Vince challenged the audience to continue to develop that idea on their

  • worksheet. By the end of the event, we had the project

idea, competitors and who we could team with. That is just the start, utilizing the critical thinking and proven steps illustrated through Vince’s presentation are a surefire way to impress senior leadership and make positive changes in your organization. – Jason Stalling, Secretary

Sharon Cox, RN, CPC, RMM Harbor View Medical

Specialty: Family Practice and Allergy Location: Liberty, Missouri What do you enjoy most about being a medical manager? “After 34 years I have seen many changes in the medical field and I love the challenges. I’ve done many positions from administrator as well as HIPAA officer, auditor, coding, compliance, contract negotiations, nursing, credentialing, etc. This allowed me to grow not only professionally but

  • personally. I had the good fortune to surround myself with the best co-works a person could ask

for and BEST physician… I’ve loved every minute of being a nurse and medical manager.” How did you join NWMO MGMA and when? “Years ago I had the pleasure and opportunity to meet Santa Galate. She invited me to come to a meeting and I met so many great people, I signed up. Due to inhouse meetings I am not able to attend as regularly as I would like, but I love everyone of them that I do get to attend, and the symposium, which is always the best place to learn that I know of. I always look forward to them.” What do you like most about being an active member? “The great people that you get to share experiences with and the networking is beyond compare.
