What are Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions?

  • “…actions by developing country Parties in the context of sustainable

development, supported and enabled by technology, financing and capacity building, in a measurable, reportable and verifyable manner” (UNFCCC, Decision 1/CP 13)

  • Unilateral NAMAs: financed by host country (for recognition).
  • Supported NAMAs: bilateral or multilateral support.
  • Credited NAMAs: (not covered by Guidebook).
  • Policy/Programme NAMAs: establishment of mínimum energy

performance standards and other efficient lighting policies.

  • Project NAMAs: specific activities, such as lamp distribution for low‐

income families.
