  3. Goal ฀ To provide extra help to students who need it the most. Helps students work toward meeting the standards set by individual states such as the North Carolina Department of Instruction

  4. Where do we determine the need? At the elementary level Shamrock Gardens Elementary uses a variety of data to determine how Title I Funding will be spent. Data includes some of the following: ● DIBELS ● TRC Data ● MAP ● EOG Scores ● Parent Input (Surveys & School Leadership Team) ● Scholar Input ● Teacher input

  5. Who is served? ฀ All scholars have access and receive supports from the resources purchased from Title I monies.

  6. What we purchase with Title I Funding? ฀ Teacher professional development-Thinking Maps. Get Your Teach ● On!, ● ฀Technology ● ฀Student Resources (Wordly Wise, Agendas, classroom library books, supplies, books for Lucky’s Library, Character Education Books, etc..) ● ฀Food for all family involvement nights ● ฀Funding for the Annual Compact Party in June ● ฀Fund Field Trips Prek-5

Grants and Donations ● Reading Marathon raised $6,000 ● $16, 731 in donations from Donor’s Choose ● Mr. Mohrien’s $25,000 grant for Spark Camp & Wonder Lab ● E2D Lemonade day over $150 raised ● Partnership with Realtor’s Read (Ken Riel) $2,000 raised for every Kindergarten student enrolled to receive a set of 5 books

Awards & Recognition Magnet Schools of America ● Magnet School of Excellence ○ ○ Selected for the first Cohort of schools in the United States to become an accredited magnet school Certified more Talent Development students than ever ● Filled all magnet seats with a waiting list ● ● 5 Chess Tournaments Won ● 80 Students Attended Summer Spark Camp Over 1500 books given away through the 40 Book Room ● Model school for Success by Design ● ● Matched every 2nd & 3rd grader below grade level in Reading with a NorthStar Reading Buddy

Awards & Recognition Medical Advocate for Healthy Air Recognition due to ozone garden ● ● Hosted first ever Dragon Discussions ● Imagination Chapter Started K-2 group ○ Continued 3-5 group ○ ● Holidays Around the World celebration ● Selected as “School to Learn From” for student reassignment Let Me Run & Girls on the Run programs ● Continued with Orchestra ● ● Full-time gardener with gardening curriculum & a part-time garden associate through FoodCorps

Awards & Recognition ● 95 students served by CIS 20 parents participated in Incredible Years Parenting Program ● 50 scholars attended Freedom Schools ● ● 35 scholars attended Bell Program ● 55 scholars attended summer office hours 30 students served in school based mental health ● Increase in daily attendance rate to 97% ● ● 80% - Top Quartile - on the Insight Survey for “My school is a great place to teach and learn” - an increase of 30%
