The Problem

High throughput satellites, providing large bandwidth, require large antennas with a very high surface accuracy

  • Complexity: Difficult to launch to space
  • Weight: Satellite launchers limit current antenna sizes to ~3m
  • Accuracy: Expandable antennas are less accurate than rigid ones

Current Status

  • Solutions for large VHTS satellites are complex,

heavy and very expensive

Our Solution

A large diameter expandable antenna technology with an adaptive corrective and pattern shaping sub reflector

This technology transforms the efficiency of communications services and may disrupt the entire communications industry.

  • Performance: Up to 10X (GEO) and 100x (LEO) the throughput of

current solutions

  • Cost reduction: Highly cost effective, as opposed to current solutions
  • Flexibility: In-orbit footprint control
  • Capable of providing communications for wide range of frequencies

How does it work?

  • Main reflector is compacted during launch and orbit raising
  • After Main reflector is deployed, calibration is performed to

achieve required performance

  • An onboard measurement system measures main reflector

surface errors due to thermal variations and aging

  • The Flexosub shape is changed to compensate for any surface error
  • Flexosub is used in order to control the footprint

5m VHTS Antenna Main Characteristics

  • Surface accuracy better than 0.2 mm RMS
  • Designed for Multi Beam configuration
  • Life span equivalent to rigid antennas
  • Allows for adaptive footprint control
  • On Board calibration capabilities
  • Cost target up to 25% of existing solutions

60 cm LEO antenna solution

  • 1 Gigabit / sec for LEO satellite
  • Stowed volume < 2U (2 liters)
  • Applicable for any LEO satellite
  • Adheres to the Nano-Satellite (cubesat) standard
  • Optimal for LEO constellations
  • Can be used for inter-satellite link
  • Can be used for LEO2GEO communication
