Internet of Things

  • IoT devices need to communicate with the world/servers/end users
  • 3G/4G/WiFi connections may not always be available (or cost effective)
  • A purpose-built, IoT network is needed to enable low-cost and effective

communication IoT devices

  • Enter LoRaWAN

LoRaWAN

  • LoRaWAN™ - A Long Range Wide Area Network (LPWAN) technology
  • perating a licence-free radio band (868MHz in EU), providing:
  • Long range connections
  • Secure communications
  • Low power communications (longer battery life)
  • Low data rates (0.3 – 50 kbps)
  • In practical tests rural transmission ranges of 15-20 km and urban

transmission ranges of 3-5 km
