Partnership Strategy and Vision • A step change in the nature of and capacity for postgraduate research and training along the South Coast. • A distinctive combination of broad expertise in the social sciences, community engagement and research impact, and a strong track record of widening participation. • To enable academically excellent students from diverse backgrounds to benefit from world leading methodological training and skills enhancement to make significant contributions to their own and other disciplines and achieve far-reaching impact across academic, public, commercial and third sectors.

Supervisors and supervisory teams • Supervisors can be drawn from : • any of the disciplinary areas • any of the partnering institutions • across the partnering institutions • strong relationships already in place are encouraged to collaborate for 2017 • a range of events and processes will be arranged to support collaboration from 2018 onwards

A key aim: • To create a positive and strong cohort identity to transcend institutional boundaries • an extended residential induction to encourage relationship building • regular activities to be held at each Uni in turn • annual residential addressing a specific theme • annual final year conference • international academic visits

To apply for SCDTP Masters and/or Doctorate - STUDENT MUST complete TWO application forms Usual admissions for relevant university • Specific application for the SCDTP (available at www.southcoastdtp.ac.uk) • Applications for SCDTP advertised soon – DEADLINE FOR BOTH – 17 TH February B. 2017 Individual institutions may issue further deadlines in advance • C. SCDTP applications sent to Thematic Cluster Pathway Coordinators (TCPCs) no later than 24 th February 2017:- Standard university application • Separate SCDTP form •
