critical mass of collaboration

• Meaningful collaboration requires trust
• Trust is built over time between individuals

• Scale counts, and the “community of care” is the proper

• Business sustainability requires offering a

service that generates new revenue or avoids costs for participating members – a harsh test

• Market participants are doing the HIE projects

that make business sense

• The job for RHIOs is to achieve sustainability by

doing HIE projects that do not make business (!)
