LEAD LEARN EXCEL The Research Behind the Model Teaching is complex work and how effective teachers are in • that work is powerfully influenced by the organizational conditions under which teachers engage with school leaders, with their peers, & with children, families, and curriculum Instructional leadership and the organizational conditions • under which teachers do their work matter and are empirically linked to student achievement The embedded professional learning routines leaders facilitate • form the foundation for all other quality improvement efforts 3

LEAD LEARN EXCEL We work with leaders on creating the necessary supports and conditions within their schools and centers for excellent teaching and learning. We equip leaders to: Instructional Leadership & Strong Organizations  Build instructional leadership and strong organizations to drive effective implementation and continuous Job-Embedded improvement Learning  Install & facilitate job-embedded learning routines to generate ongoing Excellent teacher development, growth and Classroom Practice effectiveness 4

LEAD LEARN EXCEL ILLINOIS A 16-month program for leaders offers a comprehensive suite of improvement supports: • Cultivates understanding of instructional leadership, job-embedded PD, and school conditions necessary for improvement. Training • Supports leaders to apply knowledge, change their instructional leadership practice, and embed learning routines for teachers. TA • Engages leaders to reflect on what works, examine their practice, and Peer collaborate on improvements with a group of peers. Learning • Protocols, templates, guides, and videos scaffold effective leadership and equip leaders to sustainably improve practice over time. Mini-grants Tools & provide small monetary grants to purchase instructional resources. Resources 6
