  2. Purity Law ● It came into existence in 1516 ● This law states that you can only use malt, hops, water, and yeast. ● If the drink has anything else in it then it is not beer by Germanies defination of beer.

  3. Independent Learning Contract How does the flavor of beer differ from region to region? How does the culture of beer differ throughout the regions? How is beer made?

  4. Beer culture in Germany Beer runs as freely as water, because it was what they drank instead of water back in the day. Beer is consumed at all times of the day and anywhere. This shocked me so much. In the states you can’t do this, but then I remembered I’m in Germany not the states.

  5. How did I succeed? I successfully tried many German beers. I compared the beers from one region to another. I discovered why they taste different. It’s because of the water and how it’s brewed.

  6. What was difficult for me? First and foremost the language barrier was the most difficult for me. I know a little German, but it’s mostly food. All the brewery tours I went on were advertised as “offered in English”. None were! What I got out of these tours were a bunch of hand motions and discounted beer.
