The Christie: Strategic Planning Framework Refresh

Why?

  • 5 year review of the SPF
  • The Proton Beam Therapy Centre and Tiered Car

park have now come forward

  • The Paterson Building fire has triggered a change on

the campus. What’s next?

  • Review is ongoing and requires collaboration and

endorsement by MCC

  • Late Autumn/early Winter consultation will take

place.

Tiered Car Park: Construction programme

What’s next?

  • Construction of the Tiered Car Park is

anticipated to start in Spring 2019 for a period of 12 months

  • Additional details will be provided to

residents prior to the works starting

  • To mitigate any displaced parking, The Trust

will provide additional temporary Park and Ride facilities.

Tiered Car Park: Tree planting strategy

What are we doing?

  • Committed to replacing and replanting trees

as a condition of the Tiered Car Park planning permission

  • The approved landscape scheme includes 33

replacement trees and an enhanced landscape buffer

  • Further Neighbourhood consultation will take

place to finalise the enhanced landscape buffer

Update: Resurfacing Oak Road

Why are we undertaking works?

  • Planning condition as part of the Proton Beam Therapy Centre
  • Includes the additional resurfacing of the footpaths and replacement of all kerbs
  • Added improvement to footpath along Palatine Road to the Main Entrance

What do the works comprise?

  • Excavating footpaths and kerbs for full reconstruction
  • Planing the carriageway for a new wearing course and replacement ironwork
  • New road markings
  • Re-profiling to improve surface water discharge where required.
