math is about thinking not memorization
curiosity
Yes I can! I will try harder. I can do it! “I can’t do math.” I remember strategies to use. I actually can. Take a break and come back to it. I ask for help so I can do math.
Never ever give up! Learning is not easy - if I struggle my brain will grow. “This is too hard. I give up!” Hard just means it is a challenge. Try again! Just breathe. It’s not too hard. There’s no rush. Take your time.
It’s good to make mistakes. We can learn something and fix it. “I made a mistake!” We have erasers for that reason. We are born to make mistakes. It’s okay!
Try Plan B! or Plan C! “Plan A didn’t work!” Good thing there are 26 letters! Approach the problem differently.
math-ish?

“If parents want to give their children a gift, the best thing they can do is to teach their children to love challenges, be intrigued by mistakes, enjoy effort, and keep on learning. That way, their children don’t have to be slaves of praise. They will have a lifelong way to build and repair their own confidence. - Carol S. Dweck
