Opportunity Experience Highlights Industry Study Tours Industry study tours are designed as a Work Integrated Learning experience to develop work capabilities and give exposure to the field internationally. Last 15 to 30 days. Typically taken in Summer and Winter term breaks. Credit earned towards study. Create your own

Volunteering, casual jobs, hearing from guest speakers, expos and job search training. The Swinburne Emerging Leaders program recognises the valuable skills developed through activities you undertake alongside studies.

Pathways

  • For a majority of degree programs the pathway is via a UniLink diploma

– Pathway from UniLink to a Professional degree if their grades are at distinction average – High performing UniLink students can transfer to a basic degree after 1 semester (4 subjects)

  • If students do not meet UniLink entry then other options should be

considered – Pursuing an aligned vocational program, to then look at reapplying to a degree program on completion – Exemptions are assessed on a case by case basis – The recruitment team can assist to clarify or give direction

A summary of other changes for 2016

  • High achieving students in the UniLink program are invited to move to the

Bachelors after completing 4 units of study with credit

  • Health Science programs no longer require maths as a perquisite
  • A combination of majors can be taken across faculties and in different delivery

modes

  • Scholarships have been expanded in number.

Reminder that there are 2 types of scholarships: – Merit based – Equity based Other than what is on VTAC we offer a range of externally funded scholarships

  • The George Alexander Foundation Scholarships - $22,500
  • Kath Watson Scholarship for Women - $10,000
