About UN-Habitat
Mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. It is the focal point for all urbanization & human settlement matters within the United Nations system. Advocating for the transformative power of urbanization and SDG 11. It presses on the need to discuss a New Urban Agenda that will focus on policies and strategies that can create a pattern of sustainable urban growth.
About UN-Habitat in Pakistan
Resumed operations after the 2005 earthquake. Provides technical advisory and operational support to the Government at federal, provincial and local levels. Co-convener of the One UN Programme 2013-2017 Strategic Priority Area on DRR/DRM, Chair of WASH Working Group & an active member of Shelter, WASH and Community Restoration clusters. Has a total portfolio of more than USD 115 million from 2005 to present.

Potential impacts
