  2. You child’s safety is our primary concern - Risk Assessments - Code of conduct - Trip Information - Medical Information - Itinerary

  3. Risk Assessments All activities and visits have been comprehensively risk assessed and these risk assessments have been approved by Liverpool City Council. If the level of risk is perceived as high, then the activity will not take place. Relies on the co-operation of the children and their compliance with the agreed ‘Code of Conduct’.

Code of Conduct - Do not run anywhere indoors - Do not go outside without an adult - Stay with your group and group leader when outside - Think about what you do and say at all times - Do not go downstairs in the hotel without an adult - Do not go into any room except your own - Keep your room clean and tidy at all times - Be kind, helpful and considerate to your room mates - When an adult asks you to listen, do so immediately - Take care of everyone - Be silent after lights out and until a member of staff wakens you in the morning (Poor behaviour from a pupil affecting the success of the visit and the well-being of others, may result in his/her visit being terminated. Parents will be responsible for the immediate collection of their child.)

  5. Medical Information - Children should not carry their own medication. - Medicines should be given to Miss Kinsey-Jones for safe keeping. Miss Kinsey-Jones will ensure that children take medicines according the times and dosages given on the written instructions provided by parents. - Team leaders will carry inhalers however a backup inhaler is recommended in case of loss or damage. - It is advisable for children who suffer from travel sickness to be given some sort of preventative measure. - You will be contacted if we are concerned about the general health or well-being of your child or if professional medical assistance is required. - In emergencies, we will of course call an ambulance.

Coach Travel - Serving the North west for the last 43 years. - High quality, on-going driver training programme. - All drivers are criminal records bureau (DBS) checked. - Comply with the requirements of the DfE guidance on health & safety. - Comprehensive insurance. - New coaches – fleet regularly updated. - 24 hour breakdown assistance. - Seat belts fitted. - Anti-lock brakes & secondary braking system. - Speed limiter. - Full air conditioning. - Anti-tilt function. - Coach remains with the group throughout the stay.

Accommodation - Located in Youth Hostel Stratford upon Avon - Multi-bedded, en-suite rooms. - Comfortable and clean. - Includes continental breakfast. - Group together, on the same floor with staff allocated rooms interspersed between children’s. - Allocated in school with the children nearer the time.

Itinerary – Day One 8.55 Children arrive as normal with suitcase and packed lunch. 10.00 Coach arrives at Rudston Primary School 10.30 Coach leaves, travel to Stratford (with halfway stop for toilet break). Parents welcome to return to Score Lane from 10.15. 14.30 Arrive at Stratford and have packed lunch (Children take lunch) Free time to settle in. 17.00 Evening meal at Youth Hostel 19.00 Magical story telling walk around Stratford 20.30 Return to hotel

Itinerary – Day Two 8.00 Continental Breakfast 10.00 Historical walk around Stratford 12.30 Lunch (packed lunch provided) 13.00 Royal Shakespeare Workshop 15.30 Return to hotel to freshen up and get changed. 17.00 Evening meal at Shakespeare Bar 18.30 Christmas Carol production at Royal Shakespeare Company + ice cream! TBC Arrive back at Hotel

  11. Itinerary – Day Three 8.00 Continental Breakfast Depart hotel for home 9.00 Stop at Cadbury World, Birmingham 10.40 12.00 Lunch (packed lunch provided) 13.45 Depart 17.00 Stop for McDonalds 17.30 Approximate arrival back to school.

  12. What should my child bring? • Packed lunch for the day of departure in disposable bag & water for the journey. Sweets in moderation. • Comfortable clothes for all activities – be prepared for all weathers! • 2-3 pairs of shoes - sturdy shoes for walking around Stratford, a pair of old trainers, and shoes or trainers to change into if others are wet • Clothes for evening activities – children may like to get ‘dressed up’ for our meal at the Shakespeare Bar followed by the theatre performance! • Warm, waterproof coat • Pyjamas (plus night-time cuddly toy!) • Socks and underwear • Bath towel and toiletries (no aerosols please, roll-ons only) • Pocket money – I suggest around £25. (£10 of this will go towards McDonalds, ice-cream at the theatre • Bags for dirty clothes and/or dirty shoes • Gloves/hat if needed • Water bottle • Camera • Rucksack for journeys • - NO MOBILE PHONES or JEWELLERY. - PLEASE NAME ALL PERSONAL EFFECTS.
