Some practical suggestions: Block time on your calendar to devote to social
- media. This ensures that you are consistent.
(Note: consistency is one of the most important aspects of effective social media) Set at timer so you don't get swept in to the Twitter Vortex and lose half the day Tasks: scanning your feed & RT'ing or responding to those you follow; searching trends; scheduling tweets; responding to mentions/RT's.

Facebook Tips
Everything from Twitter applies to Facebook. However, I use Facebook a bit differently. Often I will post the same things in Twitter and FB simultaneously (using “selective tweets,” a FB app). However, Facebook allows for longer posts and images, so I often use FB for larger chunks, links and images.
SLIDE 14 Recap
Consistency is Key! Make sure you are consistently:
- A source of relevant content
- Generating interesting dialogues
- Developing community with your
feed/”followers”
