PRESENTER GUIDELINES
Presenter Guidelines We encourage presenters to take the following steps to ensure we are bridging the equity gap in climate adaptation practices:
- Speakers and panelists should familiarize themselves with data and
perspectives on how the topic of their presentation affects or could inform communities that are most vulnerable to climate change, and includes this in their presentations or discussion
- Sessions, where it is possible and relevant, should explore how climate
justice and equity were addressed, benefited or challenged
- Sessions should provide tangible examples of how equity and climate justice
are part of good adaptation
- If you or none of your session members are from underserved, vulnerable
communities, seek out a story or example to incorporate into your session.
Help Bridge the Equity Gap in Climate Adaptation
Adaptation offers an opportunity change the course of community responses such that equity is central to a climate resilient path forward
- Who should work to eradicate systemic inequities?
- What are the first steps toward alleviating the climate
burden on underserved, vulnerable communities?
- How do we as a society support those least responsible
for creating climate change and are most affected?
