  4. How Will Self Move Out Work? ● Three distinct self move out processes (May 9 - June 10): ○ Students whose belongings were already fully packed (Bostwick, Johnson, pre-packed rooms in Polo) ○ Students whose belongings will be partially packed (Polo, North Campus Apts 6-10, Student Apartments A) ○ Students in all other residence hall communities ● Two distinct processes if you are NOT coming back to move out ○ Wake packs and stores for you (no charge to student) ○ You work with Storage Scholars (at student’s expense)

  5. Public Health Reminders ● Individuals will be advised that they should not return to campus if they meet any of the following criteria within the last 14 days: ○ Are currently experiencing or have experienced symptoms of possible COVID-19. ○ Been exposed through direct contact to a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 case. ○ Any international travel or cruise ship travel.

  6. On Campus Expectations Approved students (and up to two move-out helpers) will be expected to: ● Provide their own and wear cloth face coverings at all times while they are on campus. ● Maintain social distancing (6’ from other people) at all times while on campus. ● Students will be allowed to have no more than 2 individuals accompany them onto campus and help with their move out. ○ Students must be able to answer health screening questions for their helpers. ● Students are expected to abide by all local, state, and/or federal restrictions, including stay-at-home orders, in travel to, from, and during their time in Winston-Salem .

  7. Keys and ID Cards ● You need your Wake ID card and your room key. ○ If your key/ID card is lost, staff can let you in one time (then helper needs to open door). ■ Call 336-758-5185 upon arrival for lockout assistance. ■ Students who have lost ID cards will be given a temporary ID card at the gate for move-out only. ● NOTE: Deacon Place keys do not work; you will need to box your items, move all boxes to front door, and leave 1 person inside to let you back as you transport to your car (staff cannot keep unlocking doors)

  8. There are no hybrid move outs ● You cannot pack all your own items but have Wake store the boxes for you: ○ either Wake packs/stores it all ○ you move yourself out 100% ○ or you employ Storage Scholars ● You cannot move out some of your items out but have Wake store the rest (see above)

  9. Resident Student must be present ● The resident student has to be present to check-into campus, access their building and room. It is a violation of the Student Handbook for students to give their key and/or ID card to another individual. ● A friend/sibling/parent cannot move out for you. ● A student can give proxy to their room/suite/apartment-mate to move them out. Visit go.wfu.edu/s20moveout for details. ● Families with multiple students at Wake are encouraged to contact us at housing@wfu.edu to discuss their options.

  10. Campus Access and Closures ● The only cleaning RL&H requests is that you collect all trash in your room and common spaces and dispose of it in the dumpsters. ● You will only have access to your residence hall, not other buildings on campus. ● Most campus services are closed including: the post office, dining venues, bookstore, Deacon Shop, Benson Student Center. ○ If you need mailing or shipping (or to buy boxes), look for UPS or FedEx etc. options off campus. ○ Generally speaking, bring what you need with you.

  11. Overnight travel info ● Students cannot stay overnight in their rooms. ● Check local hotels for availability; many restaurants are doing curbside pickup/order ahead. Understand availability could be limited. ● We encourage everyone to follow all public health recommendations including social distance (6’) and to wear cloth face masks while off campus. ● Please see the CDC recommendations on travel https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/faqs.html
