Collaboration of SME’s Find help – Learn Lessons
No problems just solutions. Be clear for your own objectives. Understand your “Stakeholders” – use SWM and for example the next person that is speaking…. – Jenni (KTN) Keep your themes constant (clear vision, very specific short term aims) and address the target Stakeholder points all the way through. Then spent time aligning the Nickel Refinery’s aspirations, KEW’s ideas, and BEIS’ direction to ensure the project worked for all participants.

WHAT NEXT?
Concept Formation
Formed from: carbon data; site plans; stakeholders What is possible now that leaves doors open. Provides a vision with the challenge/decision points
Practical Plan for ZERO CARBON
(CLUSTER?)
Detailed Plan
Key Decision Points (KDP’s) in the next 3 years – plant replacement, production increase replacement, etc. Arrive at the KDP’s with options that support your Zero Carbon aspirations. What needs to be undertaken now, next year, etc.
Support Requirements
SWM – Focal Point (run by UoSW).
Identify funding, skill and R&D support
Westminster – Various funds
available that could support specific projects
Carbon Data – don’t worry about the dreaded Carbon
Audits/Factors in this first phase. Rough Estimates are all that are required to establish orders of magnitude for potential
KDP’s – At what stage do I need to have options ready for Senior
Management to make the financial decisions and/or collaborate with Gov’t agencies to enable the Zero Carbon route v “like for like” route.
IDEA’s – “Out of the Box” & “Can Do” thinking/brainstorming. Hi-
level calcs only (SEE SUMMARY SHEET – Next Slide)
Initial Starting Plan that will start to guide your site to form a detailed
ZERO CARBON Strategy
