  2. Our Mission It is our mission to provide a high quality basketball experience to our players. We will strive to develop highly skilled and competitive players through our many offerings. We will emphasize player and team development in a dynamic, engaging, and fun environment.

  3. Slinger HOOPS Slinger HOOPS Ltd is a financial & promotional support organization for the Slinger Boys Basketball Program. HOOPS financially supports our 3rd-12th grade teams. Specifically, HOOPS provides funding for league & tournaments games, uniforms, equipment. Slinger HOOPS and the Slinger Basketball Program work collaboratively.

  5. Who’s Involved? Slinger High School Coaches, Players Youth Coordinators *leading efforts for tournaments, equipment organization/inventory, volunteering. Youth Coaches Youth Families (Youth Tournament Volunteers - everyone is required to volunteer*) SOAR

Registration REGISTRATION FEE: $100 per player. includes a warm up (6th man) shirt, personal basketball (3rd, 7th, & new), SOAR basketball decal, Jr. Bucks program, league/tournament fees. ● Additional donations are encouraged and submitted to Slinger HOOPS Ltd. ● If your son doesn't make a team you will receive a refund. ● If your son decides not to play/quits after rosters have been communicated you will NOT receive a refund.

  7. Player Commitment ● We expect your son to attend all practices & games. Basketball is high to Youth Basketball priority during the season. ● This is a competitive experience. Players earn opportunities to participate within the program. ● If players miss practices; they will lose opportunities to play in games. ● If your son participated in the tryout they should be committed to being part of the program for the entire season. ● Placement of each player will be a decision made by the high school & youth coaches.

Coaches ● All coaches will agree to and abide by the terms of the Slinger Youth Expectations Basketball - Coaches Contract and Player Development Creed. ● All coaches will successfully complete background checks. ● Coaches will attend coaches meetings and coaching clinics provided by the high school coaching staff. ● Our youth coaches will work in collaboration with the High School coaching staff for successful outcomes.

Player, Parent, 1st Line of Communication: ● Your Son Communicates with the Coach Team’s Head Coach Communication 2nd Line of Communication: Plan ● Parent Communicates with the Team’s Head Coach (24 hr. rule) 3rd Line of Communication: ● Parent Communicates with the Head Boys Basketball Coach - Alex Lavine *Please exercise these lines of communication at the appropriate times.

Tryout Sessions Evaluations will take place Sunday, September 20th Finalized rosters will be communicated by Monday, September 28th ● For specific tryout feedback you should contact Coach Lavine. ● Players will be evaluated based on their skill levels, gameplay, knowledge of the game, work ethic, coachability.

  12. Teams ● 9-12 players per team, 2 teams per grade ● Equal split of teams in 3rd & 4th grade. ● Different levels of teams (A, B, C level) in 5th-8th grade based on player skill levels. ● Every team will practice two times per week. One week night & one Saturday AM. Schedule will be consistent/regular. ● 3rd grade teams will play in only tournaments. 4th through 8th grade teams will play WYBL & tournaments.

  13. ● First practices will be Saturday, Practices October 24th. ● Bring your own basketball & water bottle. ● Purchased practice jerseys for each team to use. Don’t wear game jerseys to practices!   14. COVID-19 Safety ● If your son is sick, stay home. Monitor symptoms. When in doubt - stay home! Measures ● If your son tests positive or is required to quarantine - please inform me. ● No parents allowed in gyms for practice. Only coaches & players permitted. ● Upon arrival to practice players are required to wash their hands with soap & water in the school bathroom. ● Players should bring their own water bottle & basketball. ● Masks are required during practice.

  15. Games WYBL : every other Sunday games will be played at area schools. Two games per day. League games begin the first or second week of November. League schedules found at http://wyblonline.com/ Tournaments: 4th-8th grade teams will play in 3 tournaments selected by the team’s head coach. (3rd grade will play in 5-6 tournaments). Slinger HOOPS Classic Tournaments: we intend for each of our team’s to play in a host tournament held at Slinger HS.

  16. Playing Time 3rd & 4th grade teams = all players should play in every game, approximate Guidelines playing time should follow a 60/40 model. 5th- 8th grade teams = all players should play in every game, playing time will not be equal. *If a playing time concern arises follow the Communication Plan.

Slinger HOOPS 3rd-4th Grade Tournament Saturday, January 9th Classic 5th-8th Grade Tournament (B/C Tournaments Level Tournament) Saturday, January 23rd 5th-8th Grade Tournament (A/B + Level Tournament) Saturday, February 13th *Parent volunteering is MANDATORY to the success of these events. Please do your part and help us out!

Jr. Bucks Program Players, coaches, & families can attend a Milwaukee Bucks game as a Program Social Event! *Date: TBD Each player will receive a FREE ticket to the game and a Bucks apparel item as part of the Jr. Bucks partnership! Teams & families will coordinate transportation arrangements on their own. Parents & families can purchase tickets to the game for a reduced price directly from the Bucks.

  19. Youth Night Friday, January 8th vs. Homestead ● 7:15 pm Tip Off ● Game Day Experiences starting at approximately 7:00 pm - communicated via email. Please make plans to attend. Please high school games as often as possible.

  21. Order Slinger ● Online order details will be emailed out. Order open until October 8th. Basketball Apparel! ● Apparel order will be through BSN the official apparel provider of Slinger Athletics! ● Apparel orders will be distributed by Kelli Darin. Pick up date will be communicated. ● Please put player/parent names on all orders.

  22. 3 v. 3 League ● Register online with Slinger Parks & Rec. Starts Sunday, Sept. 27th. Registration $40 includes ● 4 Sunday dates thru October 18th. t-shirt. Noon-1:30 pm at SHS. ● 30 minute of skill instruction, 60 minute of 3 v. 3 games. Get ready for the upcoming season!
