– Changes in planning requirements create challenges in keeping content up to date – Scenario planning and visioning processes are rapidly evolving around the nation

Utilized the guide to help develop processes that updated regional vision, goals and policies in 2016.

Incorporated freight stakeholders into the planning processes via national best practices identified.

Outstanding PlanWorks processes for prioritization; used to inform a $400 million project solicitation

Lessons Learned

• PlanWorks fills a need as a resource of best practices

for practitioners

• Project prioritization modules are outstanding
• Visioning modules can be updated to reflect some of

the latest trends in scenario planning

• On-going maintenance of PlanWorks will be required

to reflect the evolution of performance-based planning
