What Are We?

 The Ventura County Green

Business (VCGB) Program is a free certification program that assists small- to medium-sized businesses by implementing sustainable and cost-saving

  • practices. It is part of the

California Green Business Network (CAGBN) and administered by the Ventura County Regional Energy Alliance (VCREA).

What is VCGB?

The VCGB is implemented through the Ventura County Regional Energy Alliance (VCREA), a Joint Powers Agency (JP A) composed of public agencies working together to address good energy stewardship and enhance the area we live in.

EU Market Development

The European Commission seeks to transform the EU economy to a more circular one, by:

  • Building standards to facilitate a single market for secondary raw materials in the EU,

particularly for plastics

  • Encouraging industrial symbiosis, by harmonizing rules on by-products and end-of-

waste status

  • Facilitating transport of waste between EU countries
  • Investing in waste collection infrastructure, reverse logistics, sorting or recycling, and

new technologies

  • Funding projects to recycle waste electronics, building materials, plastics and chemicals
  • Revising EU regulations on fertilizers, to encourage return of organic wastes to soil
  • Providing access to funding for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs)
