Currently we have 15% of children at the school who are registered with SEND

How we identify young people with SEND and assess their needs ….

• Teacher assessment
• Parents discuss concerns with

teachers and or SENDCo

• Concerns raised by members of

staff to the SENDCo

• Have hearing and vision been

checked?

• Analysis of regular assessments of all

pupils including meetings to discuss these each term

• Make a referral to an outside

agency

How does the school support my child to access the whole curriculum?

• Quality First Teaching
• ’Raising a concern’ form is used by

teachers where best strategies and approaches are considered to support your child

• Staff liaise with both pupils and

parents

• Teaching Assistants in lessons
• Focus groups/Interventions
• Personalised visual timetables

• Attend Parent Evenings

How can my child be involved?

their Support Plans (where appropriate) for teachers to use when planning

• · Complete a One Page Pupil Profile with teacher
• · TAs will gather feedback regarding support and

interventions

• · Involvement in Annual Reviews
• · Have regular access to talk with the SENDCo
• · Pupils will set targets with teachers
• · Talking with pupils about their strengths and their

needs.
