FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

➤ How much homework will I have? ➤ You can plan on 30 minutes to 1 hour a day for each class you are enrolled in. ➤ Will I have tests? ➤ Yes, you will have quizzes from your textbooks, vocabulary tests in all your classes, midterm exams, and final exams. ➤ What kinds of activities are offered for students? ➤ We have monthly large group activities like bowling, ice-skating, BBQs and other cultural activities. We also have weekly

lunch activities with fun language games. We also pair students with a study buddy to help them practice their language.

➤ What level will I be in? ➤ All students will take a placement test upon arrival to determine their level. Selnate reserves the right to determine classes,

➤ How long will it take for me to learn English? ➤ That depends on what your goals are and what level you start at. Students who start at level 0 and finish level 5 usually take

six semesters or about 2 years of study.

You can only take 4 classes maximum. ➤ Can I change status from a tourist (B-2) visa to a student (F-1) visa? ➤ Yes, but you cannot study while you are changing your status. It is a long process, and more expensive to change status than
