Issues discussion

  • Raised at the last online webinar that WACRA were intending to

write to the Coast Protection Board requesting the preparation

  • f a management plan that includes:
  • An audit of ALB strategy
  • An EIS
  • Full consultation
  • Correspondence has since been circulating including raising the

question as to whether the pipeline is the best long-term solution

  • Questions about the interim strategy of sand carting have been

raised

Reference Group Purpose

  • Identify an appropriate alignment for the sand recycling pipeline,

taking account of environmental, social and economic constraints

  • Identify intake and outlet points along the sand recycling pipeline

alignment taking into consideration the outcomes of the impact assessment report

  • Have input to the design and development and location of any above

ground infrastructure through a co-design process (as above)

  • Discuss and provide comment on external sand sources identified

and researched by DEW

  • Identify issues of community interest and discuss possible mitigation

initiatives with respect to the external sand sourcing and how this sand is delivered to the Adelaide beach system
