Australian Energy Stakeholder Views

CSIRO has surveyed 122 stakeholders from across the energy sector including:

• Technology companies
• Representative industry bodies
• Government
• Utilities
• Research institutes

Key findings:

• Need more active industry participation with proven pilot projects to increase confidence in

technology

• Lack of regulatory policies
• 55% of industry respondents believe Li-ion batteries are the most appropriate option
• Desire for standard evaluation method for different storage technologies

What is CSIRO doing?

Developing software tools to model energy storage technologies Develop additional evaluation profiles based on real application data Test and evaluate a range of different battery technologies : Pb‐acid, Li‐ion, NiMH, advanced Pb‐acid Modelling LV/distribution network to determine ES locations
