What is the Recycling Door-to- Door Project?

We are all familiar with the collection bags that many of us receive at home. The bags are collected, stock is sorted and distributed as necessary. The Air Ambulance Service identified the need to bring this in- house, and so our venture began . . . .

Background

  • In early 2016, we started putting plans in place to bring

collections in-house.

  • This was due to having stock issues with our shops, and the

rapid expansion of the charity shops

  • Involved a big recruitment drive, so our Recycling Team got

in touch with the Job Centre & CT Skills for their assistance.

  • Working together, we set a series of recruitment processes

including holding NVQ courses and holding selection days.

  • First phase resulted in 9 job offers – second phase now 25

employees on board!
