  6. Panelist Diane Cameron Director of Nuclear Energy Ministry of Natural Resources Canada Diane Cameron is Director of Nuclear Energy in the Ministry of Natural Resources Canada. As Director, she heads up the division responsible for leading and coordinating Canadian federal policy on nuclear energy. Ms. Cameron has ten years of experience in the Government of Canada, working on environment, energy, and trade policy—including NAFTA, US relations, and international negotiations. Prior to government Diane spent seven years in the private sector specializing in global value chains and advising international transportation companies such as Canadian National Railway, Schneider Trucking, and Crowley Ocean Freight on logistics. She received a Masters in Technology and Policy from M.I.T., where she was named Alfred Keil Fellow for Wiser Uses of Science and Technology. Diane also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo. NICE F UTURE 6 I N I T I A T I V E

  7. Panelist Sarah G.J. Lennon Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary International Nuclear Energy Policy and Cooperation DOE Office of Nuclear Energy Sarah G.J. Lennon serves as the Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Nuclear Energy Policy and Cooperation in the DOE Office of Nuclear Energy. She simultaneously is serving as the Director, Office of Bilateral, Multilateral and Commercial Cooperation. In this capacity, she manages NE’s engagement with relevant domestic and foreign partners to support U.S. international and commercial cooperation in the civil nuclear energy field as well as a newly-created nuclear safety office. Prior to being selected as Director, Ms Lennon was the first-ever liaison to the Office Nuclear Energy (NE) from the office of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation to enhance coordination and communication among relevant DoE offices on issues relating to reducing the risks of proliferation and terrorism in an environment of expansion of nuclear energy. Ms. Lennon was originally recruited to DOE from the Department of Defense to serve as former-Secretary Bill Richardson’s Special Assistant for Russia. She has served at the State Department as Senior Advisor to then- Assistant Secretary for Arms Control, Verification, and Compliance, Rose Gottemoeller, and was the Chief of the WMD-Terrorism Group in the National Counterterrorism Center’s Directorate for Strategic Operational Planning. Ms. Lennon entered government service as a Presidential Management Fellow and worked as a Fissile Material Specialist in the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s Cooperative Threat Reduction program; there her portfolio included working with the countries of the former Soviet Union to reduce the threat of nuclear proliferation following the collapse of the Soviet Union. She was selected as a Brookings Institution LEGIS Fellow and served as the national security staffer for former Senator Jean Carnahan. Ms. Lennon holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.A. from the Monterey Institute of International Affairs, where she specialized in Russian and nonproliferation. She has also earned a Diploma in Translation in Russian from the Institute of Linguists Educational Trust of the United Kingdom. Ms. Lennon has traveled extensively, and in addition to Russian, knows French, Swedish, and Spanish. NICE F UTURE 7 I N I T I A T I V E
