Ginger, Please pass my suggestion on to Robby or the engineering guys. In regards to the oil filter cover plate. Please consider adding a drain plug in the middle of the plate. This way when servi cing and changing the oil & filter you can drain the 1/4 to 1/2 quart of oil in that chamber before removing the 3 bolts to drop the plate and pull the oil filter. If you have ever done a VW bug engine you would understand the mess you make when you start to unbolt the cover as oil starts to seep out around the plate. You end up with oil draining everywhere. On your tools, hands, just running down everywhere. This is why they later came out with a drain plug in the middle of the plate. We had a boat with an external filter just like this. It to was a disaster to pull the filter cover as oil ended up all in the hull. I ended up drilling a hole In the plate, welding a small nut to the backside of the plate and making my own drain plug. It was still a little messy as the nut step up did not allow it to drain completely. But it was a huge improvement over the quart that drained before. Thank you, Todd Cunningham Master # 1064
