Plans will reflect a preference for traditional classroom learning and focus on creating conditions to safely reopen schools. Instructional models will include blended/virtual learning options for PK-12 in the event that traditional classroom learning cannot occur.

INSTRUCTIONAL MODEL:
In Person Learning
Virtual Learning
How will EC-Gr. 5 move between instructional models?
All elementary students will have the option to begin the school year in the in-person model. (Parents may choose to have their child start the year in the Virtual Learning Model). EC - Gr. 5 will only move between the In-Person and Virtual Model based on recommendations from county health offjcials. Movement will be on a class by class basis.
Calendar - Additional Days Ofg
Elementary students will not have school on the last Friday of each month to allow stafg time for prep/planning/collaboration, professional development, and individual connections with students using a virtual platform. These days will be as follows: September 25, October 30, November 20, December 18, January 29, February 26, March 26, April 30, and May 28
Dismissal Times:
Dismissal time will be adjusted: 2:32 MPQ and 2:35 BPJ. Busses will pick up at MPQ and BPJ and then head to HS/MS so bus riding students’ arrival times at home will generally be similar even with the earlier release
Start Times
At the elementary schools, the start time will be the same as last year with no late starts on Wednesdays: 8:02 MPQ and 8:05 BPJ

The district will provide increased options for after school care for elementary students at their elementary school through the district’s BRAVE Community Learning Center program. (See BRAVE Programming Slide) due to the earlier dismissal time.
Calendar for First Week of School
At the elementary schools, students will be divided into cohorts for the first week only. Students with last names beginning with A-M will only attend on Tuesday and Wednesday. Students with last names beginning with N-Z will only attend on Thursday and Friday. This is to allow teachers time to practice the new safety procedures related to COVID.
