Context and objective

■ Mobile and fixed networks are independent w/ separated CPs and DPs

♦ Network operators must invest in both networks!! -> CapEx and OpEx ♦ Solu6on: COMBO NG-POP (distributed or centralized) to converge (terminate) fixed and mobile flows and merging common control functions

■ Obj1: Validation of a vEPC implementation within the dNG-POP

♦ Goal: dNG-POP supports multiple vEPC instances, e.g., multiple mobile operator infrastructures

■ Obj2: Validation of a unified SDN-based control for the automatic configuration of an aggregation network (cNG-POP)

♦ Goal: packet and optical Multi-Layer Network (MLN) is automatically configured according to incoming new fixed/mobile services

■ For dNG-POP: emulated RAN (LENA)+ vEPC (LENA) @ dNG-POP (in site)

♦ Complements set of demos in booths ‘uAUT & uDPM’ and ‘uDPM & Caching’

■ For cNG-POP: emulated RAN + EPC @ cNG-POP + aggregation network + SDN orchestrator (remotely from CTTC premises in Barcelona)
