Scenario: Nancy is an eighth-grader at the local middle school. Nancy is Mexican American and has pictures of her family on her social media account. Many of her friends and family have made comments on the pictures in Spanish. A student from her school sees the pictures and makes anonymous, derogatory comments about Nancy's family, including comments about their immigration status and jokes about them getting deported. Some other students see these derogatory comments and anonymously join in. Reflect: Think about your experiences at your school and what your school is

  • like. Could a scenario like this happen at your school? How likely would it be?

Make sure to include your reasons when you share.
