Partnership Working • AWAZ Cumbria - works closely in partnership with a range of partner agencies to prevent all forms of hate incidents & crime by taking action to support & protect victims. • In partnership, AWAZ Cumbria encourages anyone who is the victim of, or witness to, hate incident or crime to report it immediately.

Cumbria Multi-Agency Tackling Hate Crime Strategy and Action Plan 1- Prevention – Challenging attitudes – Early Intervention 2- Increased Reporting and access to support – Building victim confidence to report a hate crime – Improving the response to Hate Crime 3- Offender Management and reducing re- offending – Tackling root causes of Hate crime 4- Performance management on delivering Actions

Tackling Hate Crime Group Partners • Cumbria Constabulary • Probation • Community Safety Partnership Managers • Victim Support • PCC representative • Cumbria County Council (Equality Lead, Children's Services, YOS) • Health • Third sector representation including CVS Safer Communities, • Youth • Subject matter experts including AWAZ, Outreach Cumbria, CDN and DACE

Strategic Objectives • Ensure that everyone is treated equally within the Criminal Justice System • Raise awareness and understanding to challenge race, LGBT, religion, disability, gender identity discrimination, hate crime and other prejudiced attitudes. • Develop an environment that increase the confidence levels of victims of hate crime to report it to the police
