Dear Ms. ______, Your son, _______, was admitted to ____ Middle School last year, based on a lease address of ________. Jack stated that he resides in Fluvanna at the above address. We suspect the primary reason for the lease is to have Jack enrolled in Albemarle County Public Schools. Your residing in Fluvanna County and renting in Albemarle County needs further clarification. Albemarle County School Board Policy states: Under no circumstances may a family maintain two residences for school attendance purposes. It is the obligation of the school division to know the complete residence status of each student and employee to see that all comply with the requirements Any person who knowingly makes a false statement concerning a child’s residency for the purposes of school enrollment may be guilty of a Class 4 misdemeanor and may be required to pay tuition for the time the student(s) was enrolled in Albemarle County Public Schools. appropriate documents
- I am willing to meet with you to discuss if Jack meets the requirements to attend Albemarle County
Public Schools, which would include any custody arrangements which are currently not on file.
- Please notify my office how you plan to proceed. If verification documents are not provided, Jack
will be withdrawn from ____Middle School on Friday, February 7th at 4 p.m. Or you voluntarily withdraw Jack from ____Middle School. If you have any questions, my phone number is _____.
