• Overall proposed middle school budget: $5,486,492

○ Initial proposed increase of $419,00 from SY19-20 (7.6%) ○ About $150,000 in new positions; other increases reflect anticipated salary changes

• Staffing

○ Proposed staffing increases ■ .5 Physical Education teacher due to new start times ■ 2.0 World Language (priority one for district budget, likely only funded after other priorities are fully met) ○ Expected cost increases ■ Steps and Lanes ■ New teacher, IA and AFSCME contracts

• Instructional Materials

○ Increase in library to support expanded ebook subscription ($1000) ○ Increase in technology to support expanded subscriptions for apps ($1500) ○ Will charge $15/student for insurance for Chromebooks (allowing us to reduce fees and budget for repairs; expected cost around $5000 this year) ○ Possible NEF allocation of $5000 for consumables for Engineering (typically about $7500)
