SLIDE 2 Geographical introduction. Nizhny Novgorod and Nizhegorodskaia oblast are located in the European part of Russia, about 600 km to the East from Moscow, on the cross point of two grate rivers Volga and
- Oka. The city was found in 1221, since 1932
to 1992 the historical name was changed on Gor’ky city (on memory of soviet writer Maksim Gor’ky).
