What is the PSAT

• Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test
• (Pre-meaning before you take the primary test
• Sections of the PSAT
• Critical Reading and Math = 1600
• (Writing is being phased out)
• Average Score 1000

CR= 500 Math=500 1000-1200= Normal 1200+ = High 1300+ = Ivy league consideration

Critical Reading

• This section tests your

ability in ELA…this section is now combined with elements of writing. The writing test is being phased out.

Mathematics

• The Mathematics section

tests all aspects of your Mathematical ability.

Creating a Collegeboard Account

• Use your first initial and your last name to create your

username

• Capitalize the first letter of your first name along and keep the

rest of your name in lowercase letters, add the last two years

• f the year of your birth and an explanation mark …this will be

your password

• You cannot change your login information ever…the first piece
• f information that you store will be the only piece of

information
