  9. End of Course Exams Satisfactory performance on the state assessments will be required for graduation and will also affect the plan under which the student may graduate. The End of Course Exams are: ★ English I ★ Algebra I ★ Biology ★ English II ★ United States History

  10. CHISD Graduation Plan Requirements The default plan for Cedar Hill ISD students is the Distinguished Level of Achievement (DLA). DLA Requirements: 1) Complete requirements for at least one Endorsement 2) Earn four (4) credits in mathematics including Algebra 2 3) Earn four (4) credits in science

Performance Acknowledgements A student may earn a performance acknowledgement by successfully completing: ➢ Earn at least 12 college hours ➢ Bilingualism/Bi-literacy ➢ Advanced Placement Exam ○ a score of 3 or above ➢ College Ready Exam ○ PSAT, ACT, and/or SAT ➢ Workforce Readiness ○ National or state certification or licenses

  29. Selecting Electives ● Review your Personal Graduation Plan (PGP) with the endorsement you choose with your counselor ● Only choose electives from the endorsement/pathway you chose

  30. Selecting Alternative Electives If your initial classes are not available or you do not select alternate courses, your Counselor will assign them according to your endorsement. Courses required for graduation will take priority.

Any request made after the deadline will not be honored due to the effect these changes have on classroom enrollment. ● Cedar Hill ISD reserves the right to change course selections depending on test results, school staffing, and other factors which may affect course offerings. Course selections should be made with the parent, student, and counselor.

  40. The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) program, which was implemented in spring 2012, includes annual assessments for ● end-of-course (EOC) assessments for English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology and U.S History.

  41. WHO will take EOC Exams?

Who will be required to test? ● All current 9th Graders ( will take Algebra I, English I, and Biology EOC ) ● All current 10th Graders ( will take English II EOC ) ● All current 11th Graders ( will take U S History EOC ) ● Any student who has not been successful in any of their previously administered exams will also have an opportunity to retest for that particular exam.
