• Guatemala’s ¡current ¡healthcare ¡system ¡is ¡

severely ¡underfunded ¡and ¡as ¡such ¡can ¡not ¡ support ¡amputees ¡needing ¡prosthesis. ¡

• For ¡people ¡missing ¡an ¡upper-­‑limb, ¡lack ¡of ¡a ¡

prosthe6c ¡is ¡a ¡major ¡disability ¡that ¡affects ¡their ¡ quality ¡of ¡life. ¡ ¡

• Missing ¡limbs ¡can ¡lead ¡to ¡social ¡exclusion ¡from ¡

community, ¡and ¡can ¡be ¡a ¡burden ¡to ¡the ¡ suppor6ng ¡family. ¡

• Missing ¡limbs ¡make ¡it ¡very ¡difficult ¡to ¡gain ¡
