• Purpose – “Public art provides an opportunity

to create a sense of place, and to add to an aesthetically attractive and vibrant City.”

• Approach consistent with:

– City Vision - Particularly that ‘People love living here’ & Goal that “Our city is attractive, well- designed and compact, with outstanding architecture and distinctive public spaces.” – City Strategies – Hamilton Arts Agenda – VISTA which encourages artworks and design features which reflect local stories and contribute to Hamilton’s sense of place

• There are no rules in this chapter of the Plan
• The Plan contributes to the inclusion of public

art in public places through bulk and location standards and incentives

• For example - granting of additional floor area
