Lockdown Scenario

What is the lockdown scenario you have identified and are interested to work on?

CAPTURE A SCENARIO

1. Even during this lockdown, people have to come out of their house to fetch their daily essentials. 2. Mr Raj, a 40 year old bread earner for his family has to stand hours in line outside Retail mart to shop his essentials while compromising on social distancing and increasing the chances of covid19 infection. 3. Ms Geeta, a 60 year old heart patient who needs regular medicines have to go out to get her medicines while risking her life to corona virus infection! 4. Auto-Rikshaw drivers and Dabbawallas in Mumbai are

  • ut of income due to covid19 lockdown!

5. Online purchase during lockdown has high base price purchase and takes more than a week for delivery. REPRESENTATIVE IMAGE FOR THE LOCKDOWN SCENARIO YOU WOULD LIKE TO WORK ON

Problem Identified

What exact problem from your lockdown scenario are you going to solve? Keep it succinct

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

Despite Covid19 lockdown, people are still found to defy social distancing and crowd outside to buy their daily essentials and medicines. They are found to queue for hours

  • utside Retails shops, increasing the risk of infection.

Developing a safe process of home delivery for these essentials & medicines could thus be an effective strategy to execute effective lockdown. Describe why your problem is urgent/ important to solve? Think of impact (financial, emotional, etc., and scale.)

WHY IS IT AN URGENT PROBLEM?

Such system would save communities by restricting them in their house, deliver them their required essentials while also provide earning options to auto drivers who are currently out of income during lockdown. This process would benefit all masses while following norms of the lockdown. REPRESENTATIVE IMAGE FOR THE PROBLEM IDENTIFIED

Explorations

REPRESENTATIVE IMAGES OF OTHER ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS

SOLUTIONS & IDEAS

1.

Use of BEST buses as moving retail stores to towns and small sectors of the city.

2.

An pick up service app where people can order their essentials online, track and request other person in the near vicinity who has already been to the retail shop to fetch him the deliverables. This way crowding outside is reduced and the person who helps in delivery get some bonus points or discounts on his next purchase.

Solution

REPRESENTATIVE PICTURE OF YOUR SOLUTION

HOW DOES YOUR SOLUTION ADDRESS THE IDENTIFIED PROBLEM?

Our solution of AUTOSEVA connects three stakeholders i.e. retail shops, autorikshaw drivers and end user common public for safe delivery of daily essentials and medicines. With this idea we save communities by providing safe delivery of their products so they don’t have to step out and get infected with covid19. This idea also save business by allowing the retailers to continue business while providing earning

  • pportunities for the auto drivers or dabbawallas by

delivering these products.

Process

REPRESENTATIVE IMAGE TO HIGHLIGHT THE PROCESS FOLLOWED

DESIGN PROCESS

We followed the design thinking approach where we tried to identify the problem and understand the problem from the consumers. We interviewed locals and auto drivers to empathize with their problems. This helped us define the problem better and work towards a viable and sustainable solutions towards it. Currently we have made a rough prototype and sharing the idea with the respective stakeholders to check its execution and understand any left white spaces to cover.

slide-13
SLIDE 13

Impact

IMPACT OF YOUR SOLUTION This solution could be the new normal even after post covid19 crisis and serve as an effective way for delivery of daily essentials and medicines to people. Provide extra earning options for daily wage workers like the auto drivers and the dabba wallas This solution would save both communities as well as well business during and post covid19 lockdown crisis.

Execution & Viability

REPRESENTATIVE IMAGE INDICATING HOW YOU WOULD EXECUTE YOUR IDEA/SOLUTION

HOW CAN YOUR SOLUTION BE IMPLEMENTED AND SUCCESSFUL?

We will create a mobile compatible application which will connect the retailers, delivery personnel's (auto drivers) and the consumers (local people). The consumer can search their local retailers on the app and place their order. Once the order is placed the delivery person in the nearby location will get a delivery details update which they can accept. The consumer will also get the delivery person details along with the delivery time. Each stakeholder can track their part (delivery package readiness, delivery person location and final delivery done) in real time. Each Stakeholder involved especially the delivery person would be trained for safety delivery of the package.
