The Survey

Dates collected on 23 February 2018:

  • 1. Survey of pupils ' reflection on the performance of the mathematics

course.

  • 2. Survey on the expectation of the pupil of the mathematics course.

(From this survey we selected the 5 most important questions to process)

  • 3. Open questions regarding the materials used. ( teaching material)

THE FIRST CHART PERFORMANCE OVERVIEW

At the first survey we were already surprised with the answers. From the above bar chart we can retrieve that the pupils perform moderately to

  • good. The Will is also present to score well. Furthermore, we see that the

pupils learn mathematics overall well in a good learning environment

From the pie charts we concluded that:

  • 87.5% of the students find mathematics interresting.
  • 43. 8% of pupils are not interested in following the course, they

aren’t motivated.

  • 43.8% of the students perceive the course as difficult.
  • 50% of the students find the course very boring.
  • 75% of the students see the mathtematics box roasted.

GOALS ACHIEVED

  • We got 85% our goals it brought us to a point of view that in the

beginning on LBO schools results are bad according to news papers De Ware Tijd en Dagblad Suriname ,but in this occasion LBO Lachmon had surprised us with the research we had there, why LBO school have bad results LBO Lachmon showed us after research that the results are not bad or worse but medium. The results of the students are not bad like the other LBO schools. After research we saw that in the field the results were good and the children are motivated, their interest can grow if ICT is used like tool for

  • mathematics. The mathematics teachers also agreed to that ict can

be used as a tool in mathematics it motivates students and also the teachers in their way working

Conclusion

Factors that can cause pupils to perform poorly for the cluster and exam are: poor teaching materials, lack of motivation of the pupils, less teaching hours for the maths box and a lot of omission.
