Overview of Current Statewide Senior Services ADSD grants funding to community providers to provide essential services • such as (NRS and Older Americans Act, Public Law 109-365) :  nutrition  transportation  respite  legal services  homemaker services  caregiver support  information and referral  assistive technology  companion services  home repair

  12. Senior Services continued • State Health Insurance Assistance Program • Senior Medicare Patrol • Long Term Care Ombudsmen Program • Elder Protective Services • Home and Community based Waiver  Frail Elderly  Community Options for the Elderly (COPE)  Assisted Living

FUNDING STREAMS • Funding flows to the state from the Older American’s Act (federal) and is then granted out to community providers including counties. • Grant Funding: Grantees bid competitively on grants/RFP’s published by Nevada Aging and Disability Services Division, which is given authority by NRS 427A to develop and implement the “State Plan for Providing Services to Meet the Needs of Older Persons” • Tobacco Settlement funds
