Truvada (TDF-FTC) registration for prevention indication is highly limited and standing as pre-requisite in many contexts for national roll out -- expected in RSA in 2015 No SSA countries have national PrEP policies or guidelines; RSA has a Clinicians’ Guideline for MSM, being updated for general population. Kenya mentions PrEP in its Prevention Revolution Roadmap Scant biomedical prevention platforms for HIV negative people and scant health models of any kind for the people who may need it most Limited information on cost effectiveness and impact and lots of data-free certainty.

Coordination ¡snapshot ¡(1) ¡ ¡

Almost anything that is large-scale in a demo project right now in

SSA is funded by BMGF (more in the works – also via UNITAID, USAID, PEPFAR/DREAMS, others)

At an October ‘15 meeting on Demo Projects, there was effort, from

BMGF, to ensure all their projects are approaching testing, whether there is collection of DBS or blood samples for objective adherence, how many such samples are being gathered in coordinated way; also gathering info on program costs in standardized way

BMGF, coming out of this meeting, made a commitment to create a

dashboard for demo project implementers …. Based on discussion at that meeting, other projects, as they come on line, would feed into that dashboard.
