Current Awards • Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) – Juneau County – Langlade County – City of Rhinelander – Regional Safe Routes To School Program These awards help support the Commission’s Work Program, implement the Regional Livability Plan, and provide cost effective planning services to our members.

Regional Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan: Purpose • Implementation of the Regional Livability Plan • Identify priority regional routes for safe and convenient bicycle and pedestrian travel • Recommend context sensitive bicycle and pedestrian improvements in North Central Wisconsin • Build bicycle and pedestrian planning capacity in the region • Improve livability and enhance tourism

Commuting • 44% of region residents work less than 10 miles from their home. • 47% of region employees work less than 10 miles from their home. • 5.3% Primarily walk in Vilas County, 5.4% in Portage County, 5.5% in Langlade County • Forest and Wood Counties have the highest proportion of workers with no vehicle available, 2.0 and 2.2%.
