2 ENJO JOY Y LEARNING AT T PERCIVAL SCHOOL! Percival School is a new programme launched in celebration of Language Link’s 40th anniversary in partnership with PACT. Designed for students, aged 7 to 17 years old, it will provide them, during the holiday, with a unique and immersive experience of the British Language, culture and life in the heart of London. BRINGING THE LANGUAGE MORE ALIVE BRINGING THE LANGUAGE MORE ALIVE Academic classes are held in the morning. They are designed to familiarise the students with the afternoon activities and excursions. UK & INTERNATIONAL PUPILS UK & INTERNATIONAL PUPILS We welcome both international and English native speaking pupils. EXCURSIONS & WORKSHOPS EXCURSIONS & WORKSHOPS The afternoon and one-full day excursions, as well as the workshops, are designed to support the knowledge acquired during the English morning classes in an interactive way. Children will be given the possibility to discover one or more of the finest English cultural and historical sites. Our workshops are organised to enable our students to communicate in everyday English. RESIDENTIAL & RESIDENTIAL & NON NON-RESIDENTIAL RESIDENTIAL Percival School primarily operates as a boarding school, located in London (Clapham). We also provide with a day school programme, in which parents are required to drop pupils off in the morning (08:45) and collect them in the afternoon (18:00). At Percival School, English lessons are designed by qualified and dedicated teachers. Whether your child is an English native speaker or an English learner, we

  • ffer a great choice of courses, age appropriate levels of English and

interests. Two main options are offered to the pupils:

  • General English classes
  • English Through Subject (ETS)

To tailor to specific needs, academic add-ons are also available to enable students to prepare for their future:

  • British school preparation course (BSP)
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

The English classes are held in the morning in Clapham, from 9am to 12.30pm. The location can however vary for the English Through Subject (ETS) course, depending on the choice of the subject.

7-17 years old 15 hours of English lessons per week Our General English course is delivered by qualified and dedicated teachers and designed to help our pupils to communicate effectively and confidently in English in everyday situations. We aim to ensure that the process is engaging and fun throughout the students’ stay. Pupils are split into four age groups:

  • 7-9 year olds
  • 10-12 year olds
  • 13-15 year olds
  • 16-17 year olds

At the beginning and at the end of the week, the pupils are given a test to assess their level of English.

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) measures the language proficiency of people who want to study or work in the UK or any other English- speaking country. RESIDENTIAL RESIDENTIAL Girls and boys live in separate campus locations with a course co-ordinator

homely environment. By offering all accommodation and facilities within the campus we are able to provide effective and safe supervision of all young students throughout their stay. ACCOMMODATION ACCOMMODATION We offer triple, four-bed rooms and dormitories (with a max. of 6 beds) all with shared bathroom facilities. Bedrooms have wardrobes and drawer space so that it is not necessary to live out of a suitcase. There are desks for reading and writing. Bed linen is provided, but towels are not. After a very busy day of school classes and activities, there are TV/common rooms and games rooms for the evenings. There are also computer rooms, with WiFi, email and internet facilities and Percival has strict guidelines regarding screen time. We aim at Percival to create an environment of friendship and social activities, there are STRICT RULES regarding all mobile and IT devices. Students will have access to email, once a day. FOOD FOOD Students meet for breakfast, lunch and supper in the refectory. Students are provided with a wide selection of 3 appetising, healthy and varied meals freshly prepared every day by our catering team in the on-site refectories. Hot lunches are provided daily before excursions and students return to campus for a light supper. Special diets can be requested. Students are also provided with 2 refreshment breaks when on campus. Lunch includes a selection of cooked meals like pizza, curry, roast chicken,

  • r a vegetarian option. There is always a choice of fruit, vegetables, soup,

The course outline and sample timetable featured in marketing is illustrative only. We reserve the right to make changes without prior notice. The pupils must abide by Percival School rules. Failure to abide by these rules may result in expulsion from the programme.

  • 5. PROVISION OF TUITION

Percival School reserves the right to withdraw from offering a course or subject at any time.

  • 6. PENALTIES AND FINES

a) The student is liable for any breakages, loss or damage caused by the student to the premises in which the student is being taught or is living. b) Breakages, loss or damage in shared rooms or communal living areas are considered the joint responsibility of the students in occupation, and will be recovered as such, unless an individual student accepts responsibility for such damage caused. c) Percival School may impose a reasonable penalty or fine for other forms
