Today we are going to create montages using overlapping shapes to show the impression of movement.

Take a piece of card and draw the shape of the figure you would like to use.
Cut out the shape carefully making sure the edges are smooth and accurate.

You will need to do this several times. The more figures you have, the more interesting your montage will look.

Experiment with arranging the figures on a separate piece of paper to create the illusion

Did you think of these ideas?
You could experiment with different ways of creating the figures, for example by ripping the edges, to create different effects.
You could create a background to give a clearer idea of what the figure is doing and where they are.
You could make each figure a different colour, using shading to go from dark to light or light to dark or through a range of different colours.
