  • Delivery of water only to Council
  • Environmental releases from Chaffey Dam will be in accordance with applicable rules

and approvals – WSP rules (3ML/day minimum release rule currently suspended) – Environmental Approvals for the Temporary Weir at Dungowan (30ML/week) – Environmental Approvals for the Operation of the Chaffey to Dungowan Pipeline

  • Proposed rules – currently being finalised
  • Accrual of Environmental water
  • Environmental Water Technical Advisory Group required under the approval. Note

that this is different to any requirements under the WSP.

  • Allocations for 2020/2021 are likely to be similar to allocations at the start of 2019/2020

– High Security and Stock & Domestic licences will be able to access flows in the river, however releases from Chaffey will not be made to meet these needs – General Security licences will be able to access water when uncontrolled flow announcements apply. Orders must still be placed

  • The Peel Alluvium GW

aquifer is highly connected with the Peel River

  • Flowing River loses

water to the aquifer because of the flow gradient created by GW pumping

  • When River stops

flowing, the aquifer starts losing in the stream creating pools
