What’ s it all been about for me?

Not many people would camp out in the rain Surrounded by nature, suffering and in pain That's probably why I was dreading DofE But i was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned

  • ut for me

Stock up on plasters, black bags and fresh socks 2 pairs of trousers and 3 or so tops No need for make-up, a hairbrush or gel Don't bother with perfume we're all going to smell DofE a memory for a lifetime I've learnt things I would never have known DofE felt like such a challenge But one which I can now say is complete Always remember to take a bearing if unsure It's really not that pleasant to drop your litter on the floor Always remember to use the country code Or be aware that Mr Jones may explode We all had to live off disgusting food And put up a tent when we really weren't in the mood Careful not to pitch it right under a tree The rain would keep falling and how annoying that would be Chorus Mars bar consumption rate must be sky high The amount of sugar I've eaten makes me want to cry Even when we were tired of walking we just got through the day Think of the hot chocolate which would take the pain away Chorus We had a few hairy moments along the way Calling an ambulance wasn't the plan for the day Not getting to the campsite and learning to pace Making it clear that DofE was not a race Chorus All in all what an experience it has been Bit of a pain though to get the walking boots clean Such a laugh with so many great friends An amazing way to bring year 11 to an end
