Important Information

Sixth grade students are given a tour of the Gregg Middle School campus on the first day of

  • school. During this tour, students will have their

class schedule in hand as the tour moves about the campus.

Sixth grade students are separated from 7th and 8th graders.

Morning: Different courtyard areas Classrooms: Mostly located in same hallway Lunch/Courtyard: 3 different lunch times Dismissal: Students remain in classrooms until dismissed.

  • Gregg Middle is a PBIS school.
  • Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a

nationally recognized process that helps create safe and more effective schools.

  • It is a grade-level-centered process that focuses
  • n problem solving, planning and evaluation.
  • Students are rewarded with Mustang Pride Cards for

showing their Mustang PRIDE. These cards can be redeemed for a small reward through Guidance.

  • Parent involvement is greatly encouraged. It is

VITAL to your student's success in Middle School.

  • 6th - 8th grade (The "Middle Years") is NOT the

time to back off.

  • Your student needs your support through these

transition years.

Agenda Book

  • The agenda is a place for students to write down homework

assignments, upcoming tests and projects.

  • It is also used as a pass to places on campus such as the

restroom, Media Center, Guidance, nurse’s office, etc.

  • It is a great communication tool between parents and teachers.

Student IDs

  • Students are required to wear a picture ID and lanyard to be

worn at all times during the school day.

  • Replacement ID- $5.00
  • Replacement lanyard- $1.00
  • Temporary ID- $1.00
  • Gold Card IDs are awarded to students for earning an A/B

average in all classes (including ACE and electives) as well as maintaining a referral-free school year.

HOMEWORK

  • It is critical to practice skills taught in the classroom.
  • Parents are encouraged to check teachers' webpages,

messages, and/or emails for assignments.

  • We ask parents to consult teacher webpages for

information and class handouts. These pages can be found on the school's website.

BOOK BAGS

  • Book bags are kept inside lockers from 1st period until

the end of the day.

  • Purchase book bags that can be "rolled up" and placed

inside lockers.

  • Do not use book bags with wheels.

  • Buy a practice lock (combination style) for practice over

the summer.

  • Supply Lists will be available during Facts & Fees.
